Why study part-time?

Benefits of studying a course part-time include:

  • You will be able to align the academic theory on your course with your current job role, understanding and applying your learning to a particular task or work project.
  • Part-time study gives you the flexibility to work while gaining an undergraduate qualification.
  • Studying an undergraduate qualification while in employment will improve your confidence at work and increase job performance.
  • Completing an undergraduate degree will be part of your on-going personal and professional development which can lead to career advancement and further study.

For non-distance learning courses part-time students are typically expected to attend for one day per week of teaching each semester. The day of teaching can change for each semester.*

*Note: We are unable to guarantee that all classes can be timetabled on the same day.

Paying for your degree

There are a number options available for funding your studies, these include:

  • Self-funding, where you pay the full cost of the degree yourself.
  • Accessing government tuition fees loans and maintenance grants*. To check if you are eligible visit the government student finance website.
  • Company sponsorship, we accept payment of tuition fees from the company/organisation you are employed by.

*If you plan to fund your studies via a government tuition fee loan/maintenance grant for any of the five courses listed on this page – please note for 2018/19 entry, part-time new entrants can apply for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan. Continuing students are only able to apply for a tuition fee loan.
