Our Courses

We have successfully delivered personnel and HR programmes for over 40 years with the quality of provision recognised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and other external bodies including QAA. 

We offer professional HR courses which are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and have strong links with the CIPD at a local and national level.

Our staff have HR practitioner experience – many of who are research active, including authors of leading textbooks in the HRM & HRD field. Various staff are also members of the HRD and Leadership Research Unit (HRDL), who make a leading contribution to developing HR knowledge and practice and conduct funded and commissioned research. This has included joint projects for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the Learning and Skills Council, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and Wm. Morrisons Supermarkets. Members have also written the widely praised ‘Human Resource Development: Theory and Practice’, published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Leeds Business School offered me a dual degree in the same course, enabling me to get a professional (CIPD) and an academic degree together. The course offered me a sneak preview of the working world - after a four-week shadow placement with Leeds Building Society, I applied for a full-time position and now work within the Learning & Development team.
