Intramural Football Leagues
Our Intramural Football Leagues give you and your Leeds Beckett mates the chance to pit yourselves against other Leeds Beckett staff and Students.
Played on our 3G synthetic turf pitch at Headingley Campus, our Intramural Leagues consist of two leagues, each league containing two divisions. Matches take place on Sundays and Wednesdays across each semester.
When does it start?
Our football league matches take place on Sundays from 7pm until 9pm and Wednesdays from 5pm until 7pm.
Semester two start dates
Sunday League - 28 January 2018
Wednesday League - 31 January 2018
About the league
There are spaces for 16 teams in the league, which is made up of two divisions. The top teams will go through to the playoffs each semester to decide on the overall winner. At the end of the year, the winners from each semester will play a head-to-head to decide who will be crowned the 2017-18 champions.
Our 17-18 champions will then represent Leeds Beckett in the Intramural Varsity competition against the University of Leeds.
How do I join?
To sign your team up for the Semester Two leagues please complete the online form at the top of the page or visit Carnegie Sports Centre reception, Headingley Campus.
The league is open to staff and students of Leeds Beckett University. You must pay the £50 registration fee for your whole team for the semester, this will be returned if your team attends all scheduled fixtures. If you possess a Sports Beckett membership you can access your weekly games at no additional charge. Non-members will be required to pay £3 the casual entry fee each week.
Rules are sent out to team captains prior to the league starting, along with the fixtures, which will be available to view online, including the all-important results!
Each team will be provided with a ball at the start of the league, and referees will be provided each week to make sure your goal really was a goal, and that there’s no diving!
Can't get a team?
Not a problem! Whether you can't get enough players for a team or you are looking to join a team, we are here to help. Just let us know and we’ll see about trying to team you up with others so you can enter your team or get a game. If the league is full, we can also add your team to a reserve list should any teams pull out of the league.
