About Annisa Suliman

Annisa has over 20 years’ experience as a media professional and teaches public relations and journalism at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is currently studying for her PhD focusing on readers’ letters and participation in the production of 19th century magazines.

Current Teaching

Annisa currently teaches on undergraduate and post graduate programmes in public relations and journalism.

Research Interests

Annisa is currently studying for a PhD focuses on readers letters and their participation in the production of 19th century magazines. As well as presenting papers dealing with ephemeral print at international conferences, in 2007 her research dealing with the North/South divide in Victorian media was published in Thinking Northern (ed) Dr. Christoph Ehland (Rodopi). In 2003 she discussed her research when appearing on the BBC Radio 5 God’s Own County programme produced by Jimmie Richards. She won the Unbound Press 2010 poetry competition and in 2009 was runner up in the Ilkley Literary Festival poetry competition.
