Craig Burton

Craig founded The Works in 1991, a recruitment business and agency working cross-sector to represent the diversity of skills across the region. He is a fierce champion of Inclusivity, Diversity, Mental Health and Wellbeing in the workforce. An Ambassador with Leeds’s Inclusive Growth Initiative, Craig has a passion for fairness at work.

The Works sponsors award-winning “Positive Footprints” programmes to introduce careers into Primary Education in Leeds and soon Bradford. The Works is also an inaugural supporter of Leeds and Bradford Manufacturing Festival and Weeks, which work to encourage young people into manufacturing.

Craig is Chair of the Advisory Board of CommonPurpose.org for West and North Yorkshire and a graduate of their national and regional programmes. He is a trustee of Leeds Community Foundation, Chair of #GiveBradford and an Enterprise Advisor for schools with the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.

A Rotarian and “Paul Harris Fellow” of over twenty-eight years, Craig supports the nine Rotary Clubs and four hundred Rotarians in Leeds. Craig is also the Founder of “Friends of Dorothy”, a national charitable organisation to combat loneliness and isolation among older LGBT people.
