Tim Halstead,

Tim Halstead

Tim Halstead was Managing Partner of Shulmans Solicitors from 1994 until it was acquired by Knights Plc in 2020, twice winning the accolade of Managing Partner of the Year at the Yorkshire Legal Awards.

A real estate lawyer by background, he has acted for almost all the leading national and regional housebuilders over the years. Tim was instrumental in the growth of Shulmans, from its early days as a niche commercial practice to a full-service UK 200 corporate law firm and the only law firm to gain the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade). He is now the Chief Operating Officer of Switalskis Solicitors, one of the largest regional Yorkshire law firms, providing strategic and operational assistance to the senior management team.

Since 2013, Tim has been a trustee of Martin House Children’s Hospice at Boston Spa, of which he became Chair of Trustees in October 2017. Martin House provides care for over 400 children and young people at any given time and relies predominantly on fundraising and charitable giving to raise the funds necessary to keep its ever-expanding operations running.

Tim was born and raised in Bradford, attending Woodhouse Grove School, before gaining his law degree at the University of Leeds. He now lives in York.
