About Ayesha Chowdhury

Ayesha Chowdhury is a Graduate Teaching Assistant which has seen her law PhD funded by the Law School. She is a non-practising qualified Barrister (Lincoln’s Inn).

Prior to her completion of the BPTC at Northumbria University in 2012, Ayesha obtained an LLM in International Commercial Law from Coventry University.  This is when she discovered her drive for research.

Ayesha has taught a number of subjects at the Law School, including the Law of Tort, Public Law, Human Rights Law and Anti-Terrorism Law.

Research Interests

Ayesha’s motivation for embarking on a PhD was driven by her desire to have a combination of academic and professional qualifications in her profile. Her PhD is on the topical subject of International Terrorism.

Her research is about the preventive detention of suspected terrorists and she very much hopes to contribute academically to her area of research in the future.
