Senior Lecturer

Claire is a registered Nutritionist (Public Health) within the School of Health.

Claire has an undergraduate degree in Nutrition, Health and Lifestyles and an MSc in Human Nutrition specialising in Public Health. She is an ambitious, enthusiastic career focused individual. She enjoys working with a variety of people in an exciting, diverse and challenging environment. She thrives on making a positive difference through educating and communicating my own knowledge and professional experiences, with those who look to improve their individual health, workforce health or communities and public as a whole. She hopes to inspire others and to share with the population the benefits of a healthy balanced lifestyle and educate on the importance of food and activity in everyday lives. She is passionate about equal mental and physical health. She represented academia and the public sector on the British Dietetic Association/Nutrition Society joint working group on public health nutrition career framework. She is also an assessor for the UK Public Health Practitioner Register and the UK Voluntary Register for Nutritionists.

Current Teaching

Claire leads on Professional Perspectives for Nutritionists, supporting students to develop and enhance their employability skills; inspire and highlight possible career paths within nutrition. She advocates and promotes the importance of UKVRN registration, code of ethics and professional practice. She supports teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate nutrition, including topics on sociology, community nutrition and public health.
