Dr Nidia Veitch

Nidia completed her undergraduate degree in Economics at PUCMM University in the Dominican Republic, she holds an MA in Development Studies from Leeds University and MSc in Economics from Sheffield University. She completed her PhD in Economics at Sheffield University.
She has worked for the Ministry of Finance in the Dominican Republic and the Manchester Independent Economic Review (MIER), before joining Leeds Beckett University as lecturer.
Nidia has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (Micro and Macroeconomics, EU Economics, International Economics, Data Analytics and Econometrics) and has supervised dissertations for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Nidia's research covers human capital investments and gender issues in education and labour markets. She is currently working on the gender pay gap and non-linearities in wage per hour.
