About Fiona Needham
Fiona is a Senior Lecturer in clinical skills in the faculty of HSS and course leader of Advanced Clinical Practice. she is a registered nurse with over 25 years clinical experience.
Fiona qualified in 1985 and has predominately worked in primary care as a practice nurse and then as an advanced nurse practitioner prior to taking up a full time senior lecturer post. She is course leader of Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) and has been involved in the ACP pilot undertaken by HEE to address the primary care workforce transformation. The course was approved by HEE to educate allied health professionals in advanced clinical practice in order to fill some of the shortfalls in GP numbers in parts of Yorkshire and Humber.
Together with a colleague Fiona is part of a partnership with LBU and other subcontractors that has successfully won a 5 year to deliver integrated healthy lifestyles and out reach NHS health checks to the population of Suffolk. Fiona has undertaken other public health work, mainly around immunisation and vaccination training for the region, has an interest in primary care. and has developed and delivered clinical skills courses to various organisations across the region.

Fiona will be involved in research as part of the integrated healthy lifestyle work in Suffolk. This will be mainly around the health checks and its in pact on reducing health inequalities.
