About Julie Barnaby
Before teaching at Leeds Beckett, Julie worked as an Audit Manager for the Audit Commission and was Head of Finance for the NHS Modernisation Agency. She was also responsible for managing the relationship between the Department of Health and its audit agencies and has supported the Permanent Secretary in appearances before the Public Accounts Committee in the House of Commons. Just before joining our University Julie was Acting Director of Finance for NHS Direct.
Julie has taught on a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional accounting modules and currently teaches on final year undergraduate modules in Audit and Assurance and Strategic Planning and Control where she incorporates strong elements of experiential learning into her teaching using simulations and role play.
Julie is also the Academic Lead for Collaborations and Partnerships for the Business School and supports colleagues at home and overseas in developing and managing effective partnerships.
Julie is interested in the student and staff experience relating to Trans-National Education and is currently undertaking research in this area.
