Research Interests

Karen's current research examines and discourses the ways in which green infrastructure policy developed in the North West region of the UK. Through examining policy discourse, the research develops an understanding of how the concept of green infrastructure changed and evolved as it became absorbed within the complex and messy policy-making environment.

Karen's research has been featured in Science for Environment Policy, the European Commission's environmental news service for policy makers, distributed to over 14,000 subscribers, and EG magazine. As a result of this coverage, Karen has been approached by researchers and practitioners across the EU to discuss her research.
