About Teresa Aksamit-Hollingworth
Teresa is an experienced senior litigation executive and civil litigation specialist. She was a course leader on our LLB and is currently involved in encouraging students to study law who may not have otherwise considered it.
Teresa is an experienced senior litigation executive who worked in private practice for 12 years. She worked in four different legal practices around the UK, ranging from a relatively small firm to international firm Eversheds. During that time she worked in probate, matrimonial law, civil litigation (which she went on to specialise in), class action litigation and personal injury. She has been teaching at university level for more than 10 years and was a course leader on our LLB for three years.
Teresa is interested in education itself. She is currently researching for a doctorate which looks into making the transition from sixth form to university easier for students. She is also involved in widening participation, and visits schools talking to students who may not otherwise consider law as an option for their future. She is one of the judges of a national debating programme for sixth formers.

Teresa is currently carrying out research into making the transition from sixth form learning to university learning easier. She is looking into ways of providing effective alternative teaching and learning. She hopes that the results will inform teaching at Leeds Beckett University and other universities, and influence policy decisions about teaching.
