Yvonne is the Course Director for Postgraduate Professional Programmes in Leeds Law School and leads the two Legal Practice Courses offered by the School. 

Yvonne graduated in law from University College London and qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in England and Wales in 1989. She practised as a solicitor at large commercial national and global law firms, including Herbert Smith Freehills and DAC Beachcroft, in London and Bristol for 10 years before bringing her expertise and knowledge to Leeds Beckett in 2003. Her specialisms in practice were professional indemnity and intellectual property litigation.

As well as teaching on a number of LPC modules, including commercial litigation and skills, Yvonne teaches intellectual property law to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

Yvonne is an experienced external examiner and is currently an external examiner at two other universities. Yvonne was appointed a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2019.
