Graduate Outcomes Survey

The Graduate Outcomes Survey is the biggest annual social survey in the UK and captures the perspectives and current status of graduates.

All graduates who completed a higher education course in the UK after August 2017 will be asked to take part in the survey 15 months after they finish their studies.

Why get involved?

Taking part in the Graduate Outcomes survey is an essential part of your higher education journey. As the biggest UK annual social survey, the collective graduate voice is powerful and will directly impact the future of education for prospective students. So join your fellow graduates and be part of the picture of education today.

This survey is unique because it picks up with you over a year (15 months) after you finished your studies. This allows you to reflect on the value your studies have played in your current activities, how this compares to your original plans and how you’re using skills you’ve picked up whilst in education. Only you will know if you left education with the skills and knowledge you needed to get you to where you are now.

We also want to understand the non-traditional routes that graduates are taking following education. Employment isn’t the only successful outcome: we want to know what you do, and really understand what you see as fulfilling.

How do I take part?

Depending on when you graduated, you’ll be sent an invitation to complete the Graduate Outcomes survey 15 months (or so) later. For example, if you graduated in August to October 2017, you’ll receive the survey in December 2018. The survey won’t take long to complete and you can take part on all devices.

  • Please keep your telephone number and email address with us up to date before you leave so that we can contact you after graduation.
  • Look out for the email from the survey team inviting you to take part with a direct link to the survey.
  • The more accurately and completely you respond, the more it can enhance the reputation of your degree and help inform future students.
  • If you don’t respond to the invitation email to take part, you will receive a follow up telephone call.

Time to reflect

Graduate Outcomes is unique because it picks up with you over a year (15 months) after you’ve finished your studies. We believe this provides the time for you to reflect on the value your studies have played in your current activities, how this compares to your original plans and how you’re using skills you’ve picked up whilst in education.

Only you will know if you left education with the skills and knowledge you needed to get you to where you are now. We’re also really keen to understand the non-traditional routes that graduates are taking following education. Employment isn’t the only successful outcome: we want to know what you do, and really understand what you see as fulfilling
