Student Hub

Safety and Security

Looking after your personal safety while you’re at our University is a key part of making sure you have the best time you can. In Leeds, there are plenty of groups and organisations whose aim is to help you to look out for yourself and your friends.

The Knowledge campaign is run by the local police, universities and students’ unions aiming to help students stay safe while they live in Leeds. The Knowledge website gives you tips on how to avoid being a victim of crime as well as what you can do if you do become a victim.

West Yorkshire Police also offer advice on how to keep yourself and your friends safe. The West Yorkshire Police website also offers safety advice from the ambulance and fire services.

If you do become a victim of crime, there are lots of support services available to you, on campus and in the community. See Crime for more information on victim support.
