Wireless

Leeds Beckett University offers a robust wireless service to our staff, students and visitors. This page contains information on how different types of users can get connected to Wi-Fi at our University.

Our University are currently undertaking a project to upgrade the Wi-Fi service that is offered, as a result there will be some minor interventions required for users that have been connected to University Wi-Fi in previous years. The required steps depend on the type of user and type of device that you are using. Various support information and downloadable user guides are available on this page.

The University offers two Wi-Fi services - eduroam and Visitor Wi-Fi. All staff and students should use eduroam as this is a significantly better service. A connection can be established by entering your Leeds Beckett credentials, as outlined in detail in the appropriate user guides below.

The library team can support students in connecting to the Wi-Fi. Help and Information points are available at both the City and Headingley Campus libraries.

Forget The Visitor Wi-Fi

When you are switching from Visitor Wi-Fi to eduroam on your wireless devices you need to make sure you "forget" the Visitor Wi-Fi in your device's wireless menu. If you do not, it may not automatically connect to eduroam when you are on campus.

New Students

When selecting 'eduroam' from the list of available wireless networks, you will be asked for a username and password.

Your username is listed on your student card - this must be followed by '@leedsbeckett.ac.uk' to connect to the Wi-Fi.

e.g. c1234567@leedsbeckett.ac.uk

The required password is your normal University password - a standard one is provided to you as you enrol but you are encouraged to change this to something personal to you. Please use the relevant password to connect to the eduroam service.

Choose your operating system below for a quick guide on how to manually connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi service.
