eduroam is available to all members of the University; both staff and students.
It enables you to connect to the internet using your University credentials. Connecting to eduroam is easy – when selecting the ‘eduroam’ option from a list of available Wi-Fi networks, you will be asked for a username and password:
If you are (or have been previously) connected to 'Visitor Wi-Fi', please make sure you forget this network in you Wi-Fi settings so that eduroam is the only network you will connect to on Campus.
Eduroam username: firstname.lastname@example.org (this is your username as it appears on your student card e.g. c1234567, and must be followed by ‘@leedsbeckett.ac.uk’).
Eduroam password: your normal University password (i.e. the one you use to log onto a student PC each time).
Eduroam username: email@example.com (this is your username as it appears on your staff card and must be followed by ‘@leedsbeckett.ac.uk’).
Eduroam password: your normal University password (i.e. the one you use to log onto your staff PC each day).
eduroam enables a wireless connection not only on both Leeds Beckett University campuses, but also at other Universities in the UK and abroad. It also allows eduroam-enabled visitors from other Universities to connect at Leeds Beckett as though they were at their home University.
In the UK the service is coordinated by Janet (UK). Full information is available on the JANET website including an up-to-date list of participating institutions.
For information on how to configure the eduroam wireless network to your specific wireless device, please access the eduroam setup guides here.
