Located next to Leeds Student Village, Marsden House is in the heart of the student community on Burley Road. All rooms are en-suite with flats for 3-6 people as well as a small number of studio flats. Housing over 900 mainly first-year students, Marsden House is one of the liveliest halls of residence. The Residential Officers at Marsden House organise an active social programme with events ranging from football tournaments to a trip to the German Christmas market. Marsden House is a 15-minute walk from City Campus and there’s a regular bus to Headingley Campus, making it suitable for students studying at either.

There is a Premier Convenience Store on-site at which you can pick up all of the essentials. There’s also a Tesco Express just five minutes’ walk away on Burley Road as well as a few bars and takeaways.
In town you will find a large Morrisons supermarket with a wide range of products including home and kitchen ware.
Leeds city centre is home to plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, all of which are a 20-minute walk away from Marsden House. Major retailers such as Topshop, Hollister, Victoria’s Secret and Primark can all be found in Trinity Leeds, which also includes Trinity Kitchen, where you will find a rotating selection of street food vans, a cinema and a number of bars and restaurants. There’s something for everyone in Trinity!
At night you will be spoiled for choice with plenty of student nights held in the clubs as well as lots of bars to choose from if you’d like a more relaxed evening.
If you fancy some live music, first direct arena, Leeds Beckett SU, Brudenell Social Club and the O2 Academy all hold regular concerts and gigs. There is also Live at Leeds Festival which takes place annually over May Day bank holiday weekend and has hosted bands such as Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran and Bombay Bicycle Club.
If sport is more your thing then you are in luck; Leeds hosts major sporting events on a regular basis with the ITU World Triathlon visiting Leeds next year. You can also watch Leeds Utd try to reclaim their spot in the Premiership at Elland Road, Leeds Rhinos battle for the super league title or Yorkshire County Cricket go for championship glory.
