Why You Should Join a Society

Not only will joining a society at uni allow you to make more friends, but it can also offer you so much more in terms of employment. The skills and values you learn can be used in future job roles and will help to build your confidence. Here’s a few of the reasons we believe you should join in:

Itʼs fun!

Being part of a society or club can give you a break from your work and allow you to hang out with a different group of friends.

You will gain more skills

You may not realise it, but being part of a society or club can help you to improve certain skills, such as communication and time management.

Meeting new people

As well as meeting new friends in your accommodation and on your course, a society is a great way to meet people who share the same interests as you and can be great support throughout out uni life.

It will make your C.V. stand out

Joining a club or society can make your C.V. stand out from the crowd. It may suggest to employers that you are more committed and outgoing.

You will feel a sense of belonging

It’s a great way to feel a part of the Leeds Beckett community.

You can find out more information about each society and club at your freshers fair or visit: www.leedsbeckettsu.co.uk/societies
