Matt Duke (Sport & Exercise Therapy, 2010)

Matt Duke studied Sport & Exercise Therapy and graduated in 2010. He is now doing a Masters degree here at Leeds Beckett University

Matt works as a rehabilitation therapist at West Leeds RUFC; a role he secured through a contact he made whilst doing his undergraduate degree. Whilst working Matt is also studying a full-time masters course and has two part-time jobs (one of which is doing sports massage for physio).

Matt said: “On my undergraduate course we covered psychology in sport; now on my masters I am learning about injury management, including the psychology, physiology, bio mechanics and all that links into sports performance, preventing injuries, getting people to their optimum performance.”

He goes on to say: “The skills I learnt on my undergraduate course tie in well with my masters and I can now refocus and put it into practice so it fits well with what I’ve learnt quite nicely. The postgraduate course is intense but it's definitely worth it; I have learnt so much that I can put into practice.”
