Every year, Victoria Gardens is transformed into a festive wonderland as folk take to the streets for the Leeds Christmas Light Switch On – and 2017 will be no different. This year, Rugby League heroes The Leeds Rhinos will get the festive season officially underway as guests of honour.
Members of the playing squad and coaching staff will be joined by club mascot and the Super League Trophy along with departing club legends Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow who will have the special honour of flicking the switch and turning on the city’s Christmas lights.
But that’s not all, the night will be packed full of special guests and performances. Breakfast hosts of Heart Radio, Dixie and Emma will be attending, introducing the show’s opening performers.
The Leeds Rock Choir will be taking to the stage to perform an array of modern hits alongside a special Christmas medley they’ve prepared specially.
Britain’s Got Talent favourites Boogie Storm are back again after wowing crowds with their Stromtrooper routine last year
And the Leeds Contemporary Singers (LCS), who wowed judges and the public on their way to competing against thirty of the best vocal groups in the UK, taking the BBC’s inaugural Pitch Battle crown in July.
To top this all off other attractions on the night will include fun fair rides along Cookridge Street and one of the UK's largest displays of city centre festive illuminations and spectacular fireworks.
Don’t miss out on one of Leeds biggest (and FREE) events of the year!
