Mental Health Awareness Week 2019: Important steps have been made, but continue to be warranted

The prevalence of mental health concerns has continued to rise in the UK. This increased prevalence may reflect improved methods of identification by individuals, healthcare professionals and organisations and/or that the incidence of mental health concerns are rising.

Using Outdoor Adventure to build resilient learners for a 21st Century University Entry

Concerns about young adults' growing mental health problems and disengagement from university have been attributed to their declining resilience. This poses a serious challenge to every HE institute; all are facing a unique array of demands on services at a scale never seen.


The role of the academic and student mental health

As an academic who researches mental health, the news story and corresponding report (Hughes et al. 2018) on student mental health and the role of the academic, really resonated with me.
