Northern Film School Production Co-ordinator, Laura Torenbeek, attended the Aesthetica Short Film Festival with 30 students and a group of Northern Film School staff and Alumni. Attending the international film festival for the 4th time in a row, Laura was excited to tell us all about it. Laura said, "I always schedule my days at Aesthetica thoroughly and because events and masterclasses and screenings happen simultaneously, I’ve had a few difficult decisions to make. However, I made most of my time at the festival and here are some of the highlights..."
Sam McNally, 2019 film graduate, talks about how he and other students from the Northern Film School created the Dreamers of the Day advert for Leeds Beckett. Based on the T.E. Lawrence poem of the same name, Sam, along with the rest of the cast and crew, took the project from the intial spark of inspiration through to the finished film.

Support staff at the Northern Film School recently returned from New York City with seven awards for their horror feature film Book of Monsters.
What an incredible evening at the RTS Yorkshire Student Awards which was held at Leeds College of Music. The Northern Film School won two out of the five main categories including the coveted Best Drama Award and also Best Short Form. Our third prize of the evening was awarded to Tobias Gavelle, one of our talented screenwriting alumni who is also a formidable sound designer who won an individual craft award for Best Sound Design for Animation.
