Welcome to all new January starters!
For those of you studying on distance learning courses, why not check out the Offsite team webpages – we’re a small friendly team dedicated to supporting distance learners in using the Library. You can contact us with any Library/IT related queries and we also have a service to post out books to students on eligible courses. Joining Offsite is quick and easy to do – just complete the online form at the Library tab in MyBeckett, or contact us if you have any queries about Offsite.
You might also want to think about joining the Leeds Beckett Distance Learning Community. This is for all Leeds Beckett distance learning students to get to know each other, to ask the Distance Learning Unit any questions, and to get up-to-date information on a wide variety of topics relevant to distance learners. Why not sign up here to become part of the community?
You could also check out the Library subject page for your own particular course, where you will find details of your Academic Librarian, the Library subject specialist for your area. You’ll find details of how to contact them, or to make an appointment if you ever need to, and also information on a whole host of resources. The Skills for Learning team also have a collection of resources to support the learning and teaching of academic skills which you might find useful.
Finally, at the start of your course, you might be feeling really excited, or maybe a little bit uncertain of what to expect – or a mixture of all of those. There’s no need to worry – there are lots of people around to help you, and no question is too small to ask.
We’d love to hear from you!
