Need help with your academic writing?

Completing your assignments and submitting your dissertation means that you need to become used to academic writing. This can seem like a whole world away from composing and sending the odd text or tweet to your friends or family. But please don’t worry – there is lots of help available to guide you to a great piece of writing.

Need help with your academic writing

Skills for Learning has a comprehensive series of workshops and tutorials. Why not take a look at their A to Z index? Check under A for academic writing – from writing your dissertation to critical thinking and essay writing. Increasingly, you may also be asked to keep a reflective journal, or to write a reflective piece – if that’s the case,  take a look at the section on Reflection. There’s loads of really useful information to help you get started.

And if you need help searching for resources in your particular subject area, check out your subject page – this will give you information on resources, databases, dissertations and how to contact your Academic Librarian if you need additional help.
