Studying from home

Find out how you can you can access resources and services from home

Many of your academic resources are available online. Discover allows you to get started with your research, and searches most of your online resources for you. If you need an introduction to Discover there are videos on our YouTube Channel. There are lots of other useful tutorials on there too.

The Resources section of the Library website has quick links to online resources such as eBooks, subject specific databases and journals. We also have step by step tutorial of how to access an eBook.

You can also use video research tools such as Box of Broadcasts and Kanopy, to access high quality TV programmes or video content to support your learning. Or catch up with the news via PressReader which has a huge collection of local and national newspapers.

You can still get academic skills support and help with finding resources via online, phone or email. Please complete the Get Help form as usual. Bit.ly/39xkhJ

If you need to attend an online meeting/seminar/webinar but are unsure how, we have now made guides to help you to login and access MS Team, Google Meet and Adobe Connect online meetings. These are available at the top of the IT tab in MyBeckett. Please note Chromebooks don’t support Adobe Connect or Skype for Business.

If you need help with accessing resources or need student IT support you can contact the Library from 08:30 - 00:00 (midnight) via phone on 0113 812 1000 or Chat. If you prefer to email us, we’ll aim to respond within 3 hours between 08:30 and 16:30 Monday - Friday.
