Most students use the reading list system - in fact there were hundred and thirty thousand views of reading lists in the last semester alone! If you're not so familiar with using your reading lists, here are a few tips to help you to get the most out of yours.
Have you heard about Skills for Learning?
It might be that your course just started this January? Or maybe you’re starting to work on your dissertation?
The academic work you need to do at university can sometimes seem a bit daunting. It might be a while since you’ve done any studying and you might feel the need to brush up on your study skills. Or it might be that thinking about your dissertation sends you into a panic. There’s no need to worry – there is plenty of help and support with study skills available from Skills for Learning to get you started.
Do you need some help completing your assignments?
Skills for Learning have loads of useful information on a whole range of topics from help with Maths, to academic communication and reflective writing, to name but a few.....

You might have heard that Leeds Beckett Library runs a service called Beckett Books Extra. This service allows students to recommend books, DVDs, CDs and computer games for their studies and research which the Library will purchase.
We’d like to wish all new starters at Leeds Beckett University our very best wishes for Welcome and Induction Week.
We hope you’ve all had a fantastic summer, including a great Bank Holiday weekend, and that you’re now gearing up for the new term ahead.
Welcome to Semester One of the 2016/17 academic year, which started this week. The Offsite team has already been contacted by lots of distance learners, both those beginning their studies just now, and those returning after the summer break. It’s great to hear from all of you.
Is your course continuing over the summer? Do you still have to work on assignments whilst everyone else seems to be heading off to some sunny beach somewhere? Fret not, at Leeds Beckett Library, it’s business as usual over the vacation.
Even though it was snowing in Leeds this morning, spring is definitely in the air – the daffodils are blooming and that means it’s not long to the Easter vacation.
We’re all busy people these days with a thousand and one things to think about.
It is really important that you check your student email account on a regular basis as this is how the university will communicate with you. This is because your student email address is secure and doesn’t change, please see the library website for further information on how to access your student emails.
If you can’t log in or you’re not sure what your username and password are, there is lots of useful advice on the Passwords and PINs page of the Library website.
Due to a system upgrade, the Library Catalogue and self services will be unavailable from approximately 07:00 until 17:00 on Wednesday 1st July and at risk on Thursday 2nd July.
Due to systems maintenance, the following resources will be unavailable on Tuesday 30 June, between 07:00 and 09:00 BST
With the end of term fast approaching, the Offsite team would like to wish you all an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.
