August Already?!!

We are now well into the Summer Vacation (but still waiting for the sunshine!) and we’re pleased to report that all the refurbishment work is on track.

Over the last week:

  • New walls have been erected on the second floor of Sheila Silver Library and are being plastered.
  • Cabling is being fed from the third floor into the second floor ceiling for fire alarms, lighting etc.
  • Installation has begun on the air conditioning units.

Meanwhile at Headingley Library the labs that are being refurbished now have new carpets and lots of cabling:

As a result of the work the third floor of Sheila Silver Library is currently unavailable but staff are working with the contractors to provide a collection service for books. Please ask Library staff for help or put a hold on a book if it is shelved on that floor and we will get it to you as quickly as possible.

In addition at Headingley Library the labs that are not being refurbished are being used by our University’s A-level results confirmation and clearing team at the moment so don’t make the trek up there for a PC – there are plenty available on the ground and first floors.

We apologise for the disruptions but hope you are looking forward to seeing all the finished work in the Autumn – we are!
