UK Disability History Month 2018
UK Disability History Month runs from 22 November to 22 December 2018. Take a look at the Library resources available that relate to this year's theme Disability and Music.
The University is running an event for UK Disability History Month on Monday 3 December featuring Dr James McGrath discussing the role music plays for those with autism. You can find lots of resources about the subject of autism and music by searching Discover. Dr Alison Wilde will also be at the event, discussing her recently published book entitled ‘Film, Comedy and Disability’, which looks at media representations of disability and inclusivity. Again, you can find lots of resources related to this subject by searching Discover.
To celebrate the theme of Disability and Music the Library has also created a Spotify playlist, which includes lots of song recommendations from our colleagues in Disability Advice. And you can find a display of resources in the music section of the Book Room in Headingley Library that highlights some of the work by the musicians listed on the UK Disability History Month website.
If you need any help finding resources please ask Library staff or if you have any recommendations for stock on this subject please let us know via the Beckett Books Extra form in MyBeckett.
