Dissertation dilemmas

Skills for Learning workshops on writing a literature review, tackling your dissertation, thinking critically and collecting and analysing your data are coming up over the next few weeks, sessions are bookable via MyHub and updated weekly in term time. You can also find resources to help if you're creating a product such as a film, a system or event for your final project.

Discover gives you access to thousands of resources for whatever topic you pick, or you can use the Subject Guides, created by your Academic Librarian to point you in the right direction You can also use our Beckett Books Extra scheme to request a book that you think should be in stock – just fill in the form on the Library Tab of MyBeckett or apply for an Interlibrary Loan if you need to read an article we don't have.

There are plenty of books and eBooks available on research methods, SPSS, literature reviews and a host of other dissertation topics that can help you too, with some listed on our Study Skills reading list.

The Library website has lots of information on avoiding plagiarism and referencing correctly, including a link to Quote Unquote and other useful Skills for Learning resources. There are also FAQs on all aspects of writing your dissertation, including finding past dissertations.
