Celebrating English Tourism Week
As part of their Delivering Successful Hospitality Operations module, and to celebrate English Tourism Week second year students in the School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management will design and deliver a Yorkshire themed dessert using local produce.

The desserts will be judged by an industry panel including John Dammone from Salvos, Paul Clarke, Head Chef at The Queens Hotel, Professor Rhodri Thomas, Dean of The School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Dr Peter Robinson, Head of the Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Management. The winning dessert will then be served at an evening banquet for 150 International Students from across the University; with a table specially reserved for Masters students studying programmes in Tourism and Hospitality or Responsible Tourism Management. The dessert will also be served at a networking event for key tourism stakeholders. As part of this event, alumna and founder of ‘Tales of a City Tours’, an exciting new start up in Leeds in which people with refugee backgrounds design and lead their own cultural walking tours of the city, Emily Stevenson will give a VIP tour in recognition of the importance of Tourism.
