Celebrating Success Despite Lockdown
Despite the lockdown, the entire tourism teaching team and final year students still managed to have a virtual celebration to mark the hand-in of their dissertations.

Following weeks of hard work, continued first-class support from staff and a great surge of determined effort on their part, students have finally submitted their 10,000 word dissertations as part of their coursework requirements. We were all determined to mark this really important milestone for our students, despite the strange circumstances we find ourselves in. Subjects ranged from the impact of Instagram on clothing choices when on holiday to the motivations of solidarity tourists in Israel. We are looking forward to some excellent studies within the field of contemporary tourism.

Lisa worked for 17 years in Industry before taking on her role at the university. Her experience spans small and large tourism organisations within the tour operating and retail distribution sector where she managed multi-million pound budgets and revenue streams.
