Outstanding results from the 2020 National Student Survey

Only days after learning that the School had been placed in the top 50 globally by the Academic Ranking of World Universities, we received a ringing endorsement from our graduating students.

The publication of the results of the National Student Survey 2020, a survey administered to final year undergraduate students on every course in the country, were as follows for the question asking about overall satisfaction:

  • International Tourism Management 100%
  • Hospitality Business Management 100%
  • Events Management 92%
  • Sports Events Management 90%

Commenting on the results, Dean of School Professor Rhodri Thomas said: ‘At a time when there is a political questioning of the value of mass higher education and, potentially, of the kinds of courses we deliver, it is rewarding to know that our students do not appear to share such perspectives on their university education.  These are remarkable results by any standard.  I congratulate my colleagues for achieving such positive outcomes for the third year in a row.

These are challenging times for the events, tourism and hospitality sectors and for graduates entering the labour market. We are working with our alumni and employers to do what we can to aid recovery.’
