New Government Role for Responsible Tourism graduate
We are delighted to hear that Seedy Bah, a graduate from our MSc Responsible Tourism Management programme and a long-standing friend of the School, was recently appointed Regional Governor of the Lower River region in the Gambia.
Seedy has been active in community development for some 20 years, and was one of the first Gambian students to study with us on a Commonwealth Scholarship. His commitment to using tourism as a tool for social and economic development is well known in the Gambia and he has played an important role in developing responsible tourism throughout the country.
He has also been happy to share his experience and knowledge with subsequent cohorts of Leeds Beckett students – this photo shows him explaining the cultural significance of Kunta Kinteh Island, in the middle of the River Gambia, to a later cohort of MSc students. Everyone in the School wishes Seedy every success in his new role.
