Managed by the Evaluation Task Force, the Panel provides free advice to government departments and What Works Centres when designing evaluations. Since its launch in 2015, the Panel has advised on over 160 programmes and policies, spanning a range of policy areas including crime, education, employment and more.

David has been appointed to the panel for 2 years, commencing 1st March 2023, with the opportunity to extend for an additional year. We asked David about his appointment:

“I have had the great good fortune of a long career in academia and outside. During my career I have worked with Leeds Beckett colleagues and others in conducting independent policy and programme evaluations for government. This appointment reflects those team contributions. I am privileged to take this opportunity with ETAP and contribute to further developing evaluation and evidence-based practice across government”.

David has led a number of grant funded and commissioned studies in collaboration with colleagues from the School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management. He recently published the results of a project on digital skills in tourism undertaken with Dr Miju Choi, Professor Rhodri Thomas and Dr Kyriaki Glyptou.
