Cheer on LBU on the final day of Leeds Varsity

Show your colours and cheer on Leeds Beckett University's sports teams as they face off against the University of Leeds at the Varsity Festival on Wednesday 4 May.

Varsity players

After a week of sporting competition, the final and decisive day of Leeds Varsity sees a packed schedule of fixtures taking place at Headingley Campus as Leeds Beckett look to claim their 15th Varsity title since 2004.

Starting at 09:00 and running throughout the day, watch football, hockey, netball and more before heading to the Rugby Union finale taking place at Headingley Stadium in the evening.

Enjoy the action at Headingley Campus with fresh food from Bear’s Street Food and drinks from a pop-up outdoor bar.

Leeds Beckett’s cheer team will also be providing pre-match performances at selected fixtures.

Events taking place at Headingley Campus are free to watch, while tickets for the Leeds Varsity Rugby Union Finale can be bought online.

What is Leeds Varsity?

Leeds Varsity is the biggest university sporting event in the city, where more than 1,400 students from Leeds Beckett and the University of Leeds compete across over 60 sporting fixtures.

Since starting in 2004, it’s become a must-see event in the Leeds student calendar, bringing together more than 10,000 students from both universities to celebrate sport and cheer on their teams.

The last Varsity event took place in 2019, so there’s plenty on the line as the two universities meet for the first time in almost three years.
