Employability programmes

Get Hired

Our Get Hired programme is designed to equip our students with the tools they need to become successful graduate applicants.Through focusing on the various selection techniques used by graduate employers, including Interviews, Psychometrics and Assessment Centres, we aim to prepare students for the graduate recruitment process, so they can make the most of the opportunities available to them.

As part of the programme, we collaborate with graduate employers to deliver practical workshop sessions to help our students become effective applicants. This provides an excellent opportunity for employers to connect with our final year students, share information about your organisation and the qualities you look for when recruiting graduate talent.  

Women in Leadership

Our Women in Leadership Programme provides our students with an opportunity to accelerate their interest in leadership and grow their leadership potential. Through the programme we aim to:

  • Inspire our students and raise aspirations
  •      Develop and apply students’ knowledge of leadership theory
  •      Build confidence and self-belief
  •      Make connections
  •      Encourage students to learn from others through mentoring and work shadowing

In delivering the programme, we work with representatives from across our employer networks. This allows us to connect our students with a diverse group of leaders who can bring a broad range of knowledge and experience to the programme.

Digital Leap
We developed our Digital Leap programme in response to the thriving digital economy in the region. Through encouraging students to take a ‘Digital Leap’, this programme welcomes students from non-tech backgrounds to consider a career in this sector.

Working with employer partners, we encourage students to explore their career options and develop their capability through a series of practical workshops and information sessions.


Code First Girls

Since 2018 we have been partnered with Code First Girls, a social enterprise committed to creating diversity in the digital sector.

As part of the programme, students are introduced to coding and programming over an 8-week course.
Participants receive expert coaching and instruction from students and academics from our Computing and Creative Technology courses, alongside input from women currently working in the industry. It provides a great opportunity for students to receive expert tuition, learn new skills and to get to know prospective employers from the tech world.
