Leeds players celebrating a goal

Our partnership with the Premier League team Leeds United is your opportunity to continue your development as a soccer player while also studying a Bachelors or Masters degree

As a Carnegie International Soccer Academy player, you will enjoy a training programme that is modelled on Premier League coaching and training philosophy.

  1. Our coaching team

You will receive training from a highly qualified team of soccer coaches, with a focus on your technical development and improved conditioning.

Coaching will be delivered to the highest professional standards and delivered by elite, UEFA licenced coaches. This will include guest coaches, such as former Leeds United and Nigeria International Enoch Showunmi.

  2. What is a typical week like at the Academy?

Your weekly coaching program will usually consist of a minimum 15 hours of soccer activity and will include support with physio, strength and conditioning, nutrition and player mindset.

You will also have access to the latest video analysis, such as Functional Movement Screening, to enable you to develop your game. Further more, the Academy will provide mentoring, support and pastoral advice for all players, as well as Player Development Evaluations throughout the programme.

The coaching program will not have an impact on your academic schedule. As an international student, it will be your responsibility to attend all academic lectures and maintain your grades.

  3. Will there be matches?

Of course. The Academy will provide the opportunity to play multiple competitive games, running from September to April, with showcase fixtures arranged against other academies.

In addition to this, there is the option to join the Leeds Beckett University Soccer programme, and be considered to represent The University in the British University & Colleges Sport Championship -  the equivalent of the NCAA in the USA.

When and where will the coaching sessions take place?

Coaching sessions will be delivered during the week at Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley Campus.
