Placement: LVS Ascot
Course: BA (Hons) Physical Education with Outdoor Education
About the placement:
"My placement was at a co-educational non-selective independent school for children aged 4-18. In this time, I worked across the whole school assisting the teaching of practical Physical Education lessons as well as observation of how teachers teach theoretical lessons. I led a small group of students in netball fixtures and netball drills. I also worked with the junior school in teaching core subjects, as this is something that is required in teaching in this particular industry."
"Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed placement at LVS Ascot as it gave a real insight into what it would be like to be a teacher of Physical Education. It showed me the demands of teaching and allowed me to see if this is something I would like to pursue as a career. Immersing myself into many different parts of the school gave me an insight into what it would be like day to day teaching allowing me to use everything I have learnt so far in university and put it into practice"
The placement provider said:
"Ashleigh made contact with the school with plenty of time to prepare and organise her placement. She was always at work on time and said ‘yes’ to every opportunity offered. Ashleigh joined us on a school trip, sports fixture, after-school clubs and lunch duties, in addition to her support in the classroom. She enjoyed being around the children and many aspects of our school day."
