Bethany Pressley

Bethany Pressley

Placement: Tuxford Academy, Newark
Course: BA (Hons) Physical Education
Level 6
About the Placement :

As part of this module students are required to organise, plan, and undertake a work-based learning placement. This involves the completion of a minimum of 60 hours of unpaid work experience and/or employability related professional development (e.g. vocational courses/qualifications) in a context (or contexts) of their choice. Many students who wish to enter the teaching profession opt to complete 2 weeks (approximately 60 hours) in a secondary school.

The Work Based Learning module developed my confidence in teaching PE, I was able to gain more experience in the school environment which further confirmed my desire to teach. I was offered the opportunity to deliver  lessons to students and receive feedback from my supervisor to further develop my pedagogy and understanding of the subject.

The Placement Provider Said:

Bethany would be a terrific addition to the world of teaching; she is kind and caring but at the same time she is able to competently engage people with her outstanding communication skills. Her persona and general approach to the day to day life of education is one which should be commended.
