Placement: Westbourne school, Sheffield
Course: BA (Hons) Physical Education
Level: 6
About the Placement
As part of this module students are required to organise, plan, and undertake a work-based learning placement. This involves the completion of a minimum of 60 hours of unpaid work experience and/or employability related professional development (e.g. vocational courses/qualifications) in a context (or contexts) of their choice. Many students who wish to enter the teaching profession opt to complete 2 weeks (approximately 60 hours) in a secondary school.
Experience:
'WBL was a really enjoyable and valuable time for developing in my skills as a PE teacher. Being able to deliver sports I haven't taught before, receive ongoing feedback and then being able to put that in to practice in future lessons was very helpful. Through the two weeks in the school, my communication and adaptation amongst other aspects have greatly improved.'
The Placement Provider Said:
'Natasha has been a fantastic student to have on placement. Very professional and always willing to assist where necessary. She had a good rapport with all the pupils she took and very confident in her knowledge.'
