Physical Education

Help others DISCOVER THE POWER OF SPORT

What does it take to motivate people and improve performance? Our physical education courses give you a strong foundation in everything that goes into being a great educator.

You'll explore the principles of human movement, the science behind performance, and how to communicate with different types of people. Through placement and practical activity, you'll develop skills that will open doors in teaching, community sport, health promotion or sports coaching.

Physical Education is one of the only degrees in the UK specifically designed to prepare students for a career in teaching. The courses cover lots of disciplines helping students develop subject knowledge across the Physical Education Curriculum. It provides opportunities to develop skills which help them to become outstanding physical educationalists.

your student experience

Sport is about doing. From your first day, you'll be part of a community that encourages you to turn ideas into action. You'll be part of a diverse community of students, who know that lives can be transformed by sport. You'll learn about its many different facets, so you can discover your passion.

You'll also be part of an active university in the heart of one of the UK's centres of sport. We're working with partners every day on research and policy, and you'll be able to apply what you've learned through placements and community projects.
