Kudos for Well Met hosting CUBO 2018 Winter Conference

Well Met, the conferencing office of Leeds Beckett University, is delighted to host the prestigious College and University Business Officers (CUBO) Winter Conference on 28 and 29 November at Cloth Hall Court, its dedicated conferencing venue in Leeds city centre.

Yorkshire Rows

The CUBO conference will focus on all areas of campus life and will feature an energising team-build from Carnegie Great Outdoors.  Helen Butters and Janette Benaddi, one half of Yorkshire Rows - the first all-female team to row across the North Sea and 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean - will talk about their life-changing adventure and pushing themselves to the limit.

The CUBO 2018 winter conference brings together an outstanding group of experts, including Simon McCaskill founder of Leeds Boost digital training initiative, Andrew Walker, Executive Chef of Chartwells and Jo Haigh, CEO of boutique corporate finance house, fds.  They will present details of emerging food trends to delegates and ideas of how work smarter with technology and create engaging workplaces in the digitally, culturally and structurally changing university workplace.  Professor Peter Slee, Vice Chancellor of Leeds Beckett University, will open the conference with his keynote speech.

Clare Vidler, Conference manager at Well Met, said:  “We are delighted to host this prestigious event at Cloth Hall Court as it is a great opportunity for us to showcase our dedicated conference venue to our peers.

“Following our £4.5 million refurbishment to create a contemporary conference venue that includes state of the art technology and flexible spaces, we look forward to sharing the journey that we have taken with fellow CUBO members.  We are proud to show them the results of that investment in creating engaging workspaces and a team dedicated to providing excellent customer service.”

The CUBO conference is a great opportunity to network with colleagues from other universities and share ideas and trends in the sector.

Jan Capper, Chief Executive Officer of CUBO, said:  “CUBO conferences always take place at member universities so there is always a lot of interest around the venue.  We’re looking forward not only to a fantastic conference but also to experience Leeds Beckett’s dedicated conference venue first-hand.”
