Designed for those with a background in computer forensics and security, this course will help you to develop advanced skills that are in high demand across industries and at the forefront of government and business needs.

You will be supported by expert tutors and will develop in-depth skills to meet your career aspirations. In addition to providing opportunities to gain in-depth practical experience and skills in analysing and defending systems, your modules will see you develop your own exploits and design innovative approaches to defending systems. You will also learn how to process forensic images and video to identify their content as part of civil and criminal investigations. In a sector that is constantly evolving, you will know how to research the latest technology and trends and keep your knowledge up to date.

As a student of the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing, you will have a range of additional opportunities open to you including networking and industry events. The University hosted BSides conference brings students together with industry figures, and our close links with regional crime units and Leeds-based security companies will encourage you to engage with regular security talks. Our annual guest lecture programme is delivered by industry experts and will feed into your studies, and you could choose to join the ethical hacking society to further contextualise your learning. The society explores the very latest developments in digital security and hosts regular talks from industry experts to further inform your learning and sharpen your expertise.
