Module content includes: 

  • Advance bioscience based knowledge of altered anatomy
  • Physiology and the pathophysiology affecting infants within the ICU/HDS environment
  • Develop advanced clinical-practical knowledge and skills, via planning and effective care through high quality assessment and intervention strategies within the ICU/HDU environment

Students will be assessed against level 6 or level 7 academic criteria on the following:

  • Written case study – focusing in on a clinical practice and management intervention in ICU/HDU and drawing on portfolio evidence:
    • Level 6 2500 words
    • Level 7 3500 words
    • Neonatal clinical competences portfolio (sect. 1)
