This course is designed for first line managers and team leaders who are seeking the skills and knowledge to coach others within their organisation.
Taking part in the programme will expose you to new insights, tools and approaches which will develop your capability and confidence to use a coaching style in a range of situations, as well as in 1-to-1 coaching sessions with colleagues.
The workshops are highly participative, using facilitated discussion, group activities, coaching practices and feedback. The concept of personal reflection is promoted during the sessions and you will be encouraged to identify opportunities to put your new skills into practice in your job.
In order to achieve this qualification, you must complete three assignments and conduct at least six hours of coaching. This course is accredited as a ILM Level 3 Award in Effective Coaching.

Understanding Good Practice in Coaching within an Organisational Context
Consider the role and contribution of coaching in your workplace, enabling you to build a clear business case.
Undertaking Coaching within an Organisational Context
Demonstrate your ability to plan, deliver and review at least 6 hours of coaching in your workplace.
Reflecting on Coaching Skills within an Organisational Context
Critically review your own personal qualities, skills and competence.
The assessments give you the opportunity to practice the skills vital to effective coaching in the workplace and then to demonstrate your understanding of these. They consist of three written assignments; the first is a written assessment of around 3,000 words, the second a portfolio of coaching records, and the third a reflective journal that references all of the recorded evidence utilised in the second unit.
You will need to evidence a minimum of 6 hours of coaching practice.
The deadline for submission of your first assessment will be around six weeks after the first training session; the second and third assessment deadlines are staggered to allow time between each of them.
Everything you need to know
There are no formal entry requirements, however it is expected that you are working in a job which requires you to coach people as part of your normal working role.
There are four training days with an additional half-day group tutorial session and two 1-to-1 tutorial sessions.
It usually takes around 6 months for you to complete the Award.
