If the University has to cancel a course (which can happen if there are insufficient students or through staff shortage), you will if possible be offered an alternative course or given a refund where payment has already been made.
You are fully enrolled on the course from the date on your confirmation email. From this date you are liable for the course fee unless you withdraw in writing. It is your responsibility to contact us, if you have not heard from us by the start of the course. Once you are enrolled all information about the course will be sent to your student email only. Please make sure that you check it regularly.
If you wish to withdraw from the course you must inform the course administrators in writing (email is preferred) or use the cancellation form. Withdrawals should be sent to ptlanguages@leedsbeckett.ac.uk, otherwise you will continue to be enrolled as a student, remain on the mailing list for the duration of the course, and are liable for the full course fee.
In accordance with Leeds Beckett University’s Student Regulations (Fee Schedule & Liability Policy 2020/21 – Section 4), there will be no refund for students who withdraw beyond the second week of teaching.
If you withdraw from a course after the second week of scheduled teaching, no refund will be given. If you withdraw during or before the second week of teaching, you will be given a full refund.
For 2020-2021, if your withdrawal email is dated later than Sunday 18 October 2020, you will be liable for the full fee amount of £425.
Where the confirmation email has been sent to you after the courses start on 5 October, we will refund the course fee, provided the withdrawal email has been received within 14 calendar days of the date of the confirmation email. If the withdrawal email is dated later than 14 days of the date of the withdrawal email, you are liable for the full course fee for that year.
A new application form is required for each new academic year.
