  • Explore your own practice in relation to published research and identify themes for further research
  • Develop skills as a reflective and reflexive practitioner, critically examining your process and practice

Flexibility

Crafted specifically for distance learning, this course can fit around your current work and home commitments. Improve your practice and join an online community of fellow educators.

Enhance your skillset

This course is designed for current practicing teachers who already have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). For example, those who want to teach in primary or secondary schools and are undertaking training which leads to QTS or equivalent, and teachers practicing in international schools abroad (English curriculum).

Please note that this course does not result in the award of QTS.

You will benefit from outstanding support tailored to your professional development needs, including a personal support tutor, online resources using a range of web-based software, and numerous opportunities to network through our professional learning communities.

Partnerships

We are keen to extend our partners both in the UK and internationally within the English curriculum. Please contact Meri Nasilyn for further information about our partnership opportunities.

Studying for the PGCE through Leeds Beckett has been an enjoyable and challenging experience. Although this was a distance-based learning course, every effort was made to ensure we felt part of the student body and we were incredibly well-supported by knowledgeable and responsive tutors. Through a mixture of online tutorials and independent study I developed throughout the year until finally undertaking an action-based research project in school. This practical application of my skills and knowledge has inspired me to continue the disciplines taught on the PGCE into my teaching career.
