Our one-year Certificate of HE course will give you the full university experience. Successful completion will allow you to progress into the second year of the BA (Hons) degree.

As part of this course, you’ll:

  • Study a range of modules which will develop your critical and analytical skills
  • Develop your own writing style and produce creative work in a range of genres and styles
  • Build knowledge of the critical, technical and creative aspects of the craft in a range of areas such as voice, register, and audiences
  • Be encouraged to discuss and debate the different ways texts can be interpreted
  • Learn through bespoke creative writing workshops, seminars, lectures and events designed to support your new experiences of study in higher education
  • Be assessed in a variety of ways including presentations, which will help you to understand the wider world and the contemporary moment
  • Have plenty of opportunities to ask questions about your course and transition to university life
